Introducing, The Travel Buggy Aerolux

Our team reviewed and test drove the Aerolux, and here’s what they have to say:
- Top 2 Pros
- Ultra-light weight! With the battery it weighs 32lbs and it’s only 29lbs without the battery.
- You can enhance your Aerolux experience by purchasing an optional wireless caregiver remote. This is a unique feature, as most caregiver remotes are wired. The wireless one makes it easier for a caregiver to drive the chair for somebody without needing to be walking right behind it; for example, now they can hold open doors and drive their charge through them with ease.
- Some Things to Consider
- Since the unit is lightweight, the cushion is not the same quality and thickness of similar chairs (the cushion is 1″ in thickness as opposed to 2-3″ in the other Travel Buggy models).
- With 6.5″ front wheels this unit is best suited for indoor use or smooth outdoor driving.
- This unit has 2 footrests in the typical wheelchair style, as opposed to a center foot plate, so depending on your preference this could be a pro or con. Another thing to note about the footrests, is they do not have the mesh straps to rest your ankles/heels on. This can require a little more effort to keep your feet on the footrests, which may or may not matter to you.
Overall, the Aerolux unit is high quality and lightweight, best suited for indoor use or short trips as opposed to all day use. It is easy to move in and out of vehicles which makes it a great unit for fun, occasional outings. The Aerolux comes in Black; or you can upgrade for a Red, Blue or Purple Seat.
